As part of intensive diplomatic efforts aimed at restoring peace and preventing further bloodshed in northern Syria, direct talks were held between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Secretary of State on one side, and the Chief Executive President of the Council of Ambassadors, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Majdoub, along with his Deputy, Dr. Nokos Ahiram, on the other. The discussions led to an international consensus on the urgent need to intervene and de-escalate the military conflict in the Raqqa region.
Following these directives, an emergency meeting was held, gathering a number of diplomatic, leadership, and tribal figures. Among the participants was the northern Syria adviser to Dr. Al-Majdoub, Sheikh of the Al-Sadah Al-Naeem tribe, Nouri Ibrahim Al-Noori Al-Naeemi, accompanied by a delegation of tribal sheikhs. The delegation met with Captain Tim, the U.S. Army Civil Affairs Officer with the International Coalition Forces in Raqqa, and his assistant.
The talks focused on ways to halt the ongoing clashes that pose a threat to the safety and security of civilians—particularly the Al-Sadah Al-Naeem tribe and surrounding clans—in light of repeated attacks by the factions “Suqour al-Sunnah” and “Ahrar al-Sharqiya.” Thanks to the direct coordination with the American side, a decision was made for a limited U.S. military intervention to ensure the cessation of hostilities and to expel the hostile armed elements from the villages and areas of the affected tribes.
This step highlights the significant diplomatic and political role played by President Dr. Ibrahim Al-Majdoub and his team, in cooperation with President Trump and his administration, in addressing armed conflicts across Syria and the broader Middle East—on both regional and international levels—while safeguarding civilian lives and property and promoting stability throughout the region.
